'SuperVote' for Charlie!!

American Idol is giving the opportunity to power vote online/mobile with 50 votes.  You can spread the votes to other contestants if you choose.    Sounds good to me!

Power Vote

'American Idol' announces new way to vote: SuperVote

SuperVote is an online tool for fans to cast 50 votes all at once via any of the AT&T American IdolVote destinations: AmericanIdol.com, the mobile app, and Facebook, Fox announced today. Fans will be able to send all 50 votes to one contestant, or allocate them among a few different performers.
This follows a 2011 announcement that allowed fans to vote online. As always, viewers will still be able to vote via a phone call after the show, but now it seems like passionate fans won’t have to spend as much time texting massive amounts of votes to keep their favorite in the game. The new system will kick off tomorrow night, when the 10 girl semifinalists – including Breanna Steer and Janelle Arthur  – take the stage.

  1. Awesome! I wonder if this is in addition to the 50 vote-system they had last year? Or is it just a faster way of doing the same thing? Either way, I plan to give all 50 votes to Charlie, then do 50 calls/texts. I'm gonna try to aim for 100-200 votes, just for my little man. XD

  2. It was there last year?? I didn't vote last year so maybe i missed it but I'm relieved!! I need to vote for my Charlie!!

In other news, did you see what charlie wrote on his tumblr? Weird, wonder what the fans said to his sister that Charlie had to intervene. Also, I really want him to tweet. Angela has like 8000 followers now and tweets pics and updates all the time. I just want one little tweet telling us how he is, anything really.

    1. Last year the way the voting system worked was you clicked on the person's name and then had to type the captcha code thing. I assume what they did for this year was just get rid of the annoying code. And of course if you only plan to vote for one person, you can simply do it all at once. I think they realize that people are not always watching Idol or that not everyone has time to vote for 2 hours, but they still want and need those votes, so they made it more convenient.

Yes, I saw that too. I'm not sure what exactly people said to her, I guess they were asking invasive questions about Charlie and it made her feel uncomfortable (especially since she is also very private). I'm assuming she is younger than he is, she is probably around 14/15/16, you can only imagine what it's like dealing with your brother suddenly becoming famous when you're that young. The thing is, perhaps people wouldn't be bothering his family or friends if Charlie himself would communicate with fans more. I'd love for him to tweet more often (I see he hasn't tweeted anything new since getting his new account) but at the same time, I can understand why he doesn't. As we already know, he's very shy and likes to keep things private (although that's not to say he couldn't tweet a simple "How is everyone?") But I'm sure he's very busy with preparing for the show as well as probably keeping up with his schoolwork and perhaps he feels that if all he has to say is "How are you?" he'd rather just not bother tweeting anything unless he has something really important to say. I'm sure once the show gets under way, he will probably tweet more. Even on his Tumblr most of his posts were just rebloggings and he never seemed to post very much on his personal Facebook. I guess he just isn't very into social media.

  3. Thanks for explaining last year's voting process. Indeed, no one has time for the 2 hour dialing.

Right, the fact that we don't get much from Charlie is making the fans antsy and nosy! But there is no need to make her feel uncomfortable. I think we're going to have to get used to him being private and settle for the few tweets he'll send out on due time. I think he gives so much of himself when he is on the show though. So that will have to do. :)
