AI13 Eligibility Rule Change - Charlie May Audition Again

So another American Idol finale has gone by.  Congratulations Candice!  I believed she was very worthy of the win.   Kree was my early horse but Candice kept showing up with some amazing performances.   I've listen to their singles and I must say I like  Angie's  and Kree's Single .   Candice's Song will have to grown on me.

And now for the good news!

According to IdolPad spoilers Charlie can come back and audition again!!  Only the top 11 will not be eligible.   Will he go that route or not is up to him of course but I think he should wait till he finds out who the judges are.   I think a judge who understands rock will  give him a better review of his performances.  I know most have asked him to go to the Voice.  I've watched it this season and I don't know if Charlie would get very far.  It's always a 50% chance that you're going home.  You have to go up against big vocals at every turn so I'm not sure how well Charlie would fair with a one on one singing battle with a vocal diva.  I think Idol was great because we still got to see him  perform several times.  On the Voice you could be out very early.  You're also given a song to sing instead of choosing it yourself.   If the judge doesn't  understand your talent they may direct you the wrong way.    Of course, I would choose any avenue to see Charlie perform again.  He belongs on a stage, period.

Fox 16 - Where are they Now

Fox 16 interviewed Charlie once again on a segment called "Where are they now?".  He  mentions  living in Burbank since New Years day, mainly writing to have an EP done soon.   States that charlieaskew.com as his main website but  it's not up yet.   Has tried to lined up some performances but mainly doing writing.     Again states how he is shy and private but American Idol helped him in this regard.  I think he needs to do other stuff to continue to get him out of his shell.  When the inteviewer mentions his single status he clams up , lol.  Oh dear i think this inteviewer was a bit too high energy for his liking.   He needs to stop saying "I don't know" so much,  but hopefully he cleans that up with more interviews.    I wonder if he will do some club appearances and the like.   I really hope so,  he needs to get out there and perform, a few originals and covers.  Just needs to get better at getting himself promoted.

Interview with Reality Rocks - Lyndsey Parker

So our Charlie finally came out of hiding!!  Lyndsey Parker did a great job interviewing him.  For those who have wondered why he hasn't used social media he basically said he was submerged with his writing and also is not accustomed using twitter and only posted on Facebook once a month.

He mentioned the private thing, and I know some of you think he needs to come out of his shell, but observing how he handled all the questions I don't see him having any problems.  I think he just needs someone to sit him down and answer questions.  Hopefully Lyndsey continues to follow his career.

We'll be hearing new music after May due to the AI contract he can't release anything sooner.  He's still debating whether he'll do the Voice or just start up a band.  Before this interview I didn't think he would do some other reality talent show, but after watching it,  I think he is ready to take on a new reality type of show.

I was surprised to hear that Steven Tyler told him he wasn't ready last year.  Maybe it was the nerves but I think Charlie is ready.     So hopefully we'll at least get some new music.    I don't expect him to do too much on social media so we'll have to rely on his Dad.

He did reveal more about his "Mama" song.  I was sad to hear his reasons for choosing the song but know that his music is therapy for him and he will heal from past wounds.

I was relieved to see that looked happy, calm and refreshed.  Can't wait to see what's in store for our dear Awkward Turtle. :)

New Interview Coming Soon

Charlie's Dad has been our lifeline these past weeks.    Updating the fans almost daily is a fan's dream!   I know we all wish for our Charlie boy to be the one giving us updates but his Dad has stated that Charlie still feels like uncomfortable just talking to us.  His Dad is even speaking in Portuguese to Charlie's fans in Portugal!   I expect it will take baby steps for him to come out more often out of his shell, but he will get there, especially if he wants to promote his new music.

The last update is that we'll be getting a new interview online.  I can't wait to see him again!    His Dad has stated that he will also sing! YAY!!

Anyone seen Nygel's latest IMs??  He is hinting at new surprise/change in Idol after this season is over.   He says it's fun and positive.   Many are thinking it could be related to the tour or a Vegas show.  Don't know but I wish it would include Charlie somehow, but probably hoping for too much.

In the meantime here are Charlie's latest pics.   Wonder where this is, he looks relaxed and happy.  :)

Tribute Video - Our Sky Blue Diamond

Andrea Defrancesco did such a wonderful job with this tribute.  It made me realize how much I already miss  Charlie.  There is so much about him that makes him soooo special:  His humor, wit, intelligence, humbleness, passion and raw talent for starters as well as his love for his Awkward Turtles.   She captured it all.  Thank you Miss Andrea!!  You rock!

On to Bigger Things

It's Balladeer Idol folks!   Come get your tickets!   It's so refreshing to know that in the coming weeks, themes like Favorite Movies, Disney songs, Aerosmith songs, Broadway, and even Rock Week will all blend in into a big mush of sleep inducing ballads.  Hopefully America will be awake to vote on time.

Last night Idol gave us the news fast.   Aubrey was chosen to open the tour with "Out Here On My Own".    I'm happy for her, but it hurt, not gonna lie.    I was not a happy turtle last night, I went inside my shell and called it a night.

But this morning I read Charlie's words and I was amazed by his wisdom and comforting words to US -his fans.    He was not writing with sadness or any other feeling I'm sure we felt.  No words about his music/aristry/future plans.  He was just there to hold all his awkward turtles together in a big virtual hug with words so sweet, so mature for his age that had me tearing up.    After reading it, I felt like a soaring eagle.   That my friends is called a winner at life.  And win, he most definitely will do.

Can't wait for what's to come.    There is too much talent and passion to keep it all in.   He has all this music ready.  I know that what ever he puts out there will be ground breaking.   "Awkward" will not be the right word to describe him.  He'll just be a star.

On to bigger things my sweet Charlie.  Bigger and Grander.

For those who missed Charlie's post:

I'm freeee!! This just means I get to do my own thing now. The experience would've been good, but I've traveled with a band before. I'll be fine. I'm so proud and happy for Aubrey, you have no idea. I wish her the best of luck, and hope she has fun on the tour! :D And turtles, growing up I was always the one people my age tended to shun, and call a freak. Whenever you feel like you don't fit in, or you're not meant to be here just remember:

1. Everything happens for a reason and every living soul is here on this earth because it was meant to be here. Everyone has a purpose and a reason to be here.
2. You're really not the awkward ones at all. Anyone who bullies you, or calls you out on it, they're all trying to fit into this norm, or this image that the mainstream deems "cool". In the grand scheme of things, they're the awkward ones, and you are the winners at the game of human life. How are you winning? By staying true to what YOU love, and what YOU think is cool and what speaks to YOU personally no matter how many "freak" or "weirdo" comments you get. You're beautiful for being YOU. Not for trying to be something that you're not. You're plenty "cool" for not even trying.
Oh yeah, and thank you all for listening to me sing. Y'all aren't done with me yet! ;)

Good Luck Charlie!

Wishing Charlie best of luck tonight!!   American Idol would be fools not to allow a breath of fresh air into a tour full of ballad singers.   I can see it now, Charlie opening the concert with a rocking song making everyone stand in their feet.  I think he deserves to sing 2 songs in my book.
