'American Idol 12': Charlie Askew leads Top 20 power rankings

THE GUYS
1. CHARLIE ASKEW. The adorkable 17-year-old from Little Rock, Ark., who says, “I glorify weirdness,” is a bona fide star right now. His beautiful, crazy version of “Rocket Man” wasn't just memorable, it was moving. He has lived that song and he is clearly enjoying his time in the spotlight. He'll be there for a while and, try as the producers might to stop him, he may win the whole thing. “Barbz, love Charlie!” Nicki Minaj commanded her fans. Oh, they will.

  1. Aw yay! Except he's 18 now, not 17, but whatever. I noticed that about his song choices so far as well- that he can relate to everything he's singing in some way or other. I love that he is showing us who he is and telling his life story through his songs. :-)

  2. I know, when he sang Nature boy, he totally made me stop everything I was doing. Beyond the beautiful vocals it was what he was emoting. I was hooked from that moment on.

I was looking at the caricature chosen at the VFTW site,it's of Charlie and Zoanette. It's pretty funny. Apparently they are pissed that AI is manipulating this season not to have a WGWG winner. They can't wait for Charlie to pull it out (the guitar i mean, lol) They love Zoanette because of the fun factor so that's it, those 2 are their choices.

    1. Yes! Bring it on VFTW! Bring it home for our crazy people we love so much! And I really do hope Charlie pulls out his guitar (or some other instrument) and Zoanette pulls out her drums again. It'd be amazing if the 2 of them made it to the finale and had a drum-off!

  3. Omg, that would be epic!! Both of them sure know how to work up a crowd. They have to be in the top 10 for the pure entertainment factor. Don't want a snooze fest. ;)
