Fox 16 interviewed Charlie once again on a segment called "Where are they now?". He mentions living in Burbank since New Years day, mainly writing to have an EP done soon. States that charlieaskew.com as his main website but it's not up yet. Has tried to lined up some performances but mainly doing writing. Again states how he is shy and private but American Idol helped him in this regard. I think he needs to do other stuff to continue to get him out of his shell. When the inteviewer mentions his single status he clams up , lol. Oh dear i think this inteviewer was a bit too high energy for his liking. He needs to stop saying "I don't know" so much, but hopefully he cleans that up with more interviews. I wonder if he will do some club appearances and the like. I really hope so, he needs to get out there and perform, a few originals and covers. Just needs to get better at getting himself promoted.
Mmm yeah he didn't seem like he really wanted to be there lol. I like Charlie's hair but he's getting to the point where he needs to cut it a little bit. Did he have his coat on?????? It's like he was ready to walk out as soon as it was over. Maybe he isn't a morning person haha I think his problem is that he seems like he doesn't mind answering the questions but he's just too darn shy and quiet. Thankfully Idol helped him out with that, I wish more people would want to interview him. Maybe once Idol is over and he releases his new music some more people will want to talk to him (but he has to make himself look presentable!)

ReplyDeleteSo, we're down to the top 3. I had originally wanted Kree to win, I thought her voice is so angelic and still do. But now, I think Candice's voice is so outstanding, constantly giving great vocals and performances. I gotta change my vote for Candice now.
Yeah I wonder too. I haven't seen any of the other contestants perform, except on shows like Ellen or Kelly and Whoever (used to be Regis and Kelly lol) Because it's strange that he said he's actually tried to get things lined up but nothing "solid" has happened yet... Maybe that's also why his website hasn't launched yet. Hopefully in June or July at the latest he will finally be allowed to put up his website and put up some new music and maybe get a few performances. I'm still hoping he'll make an appearance at the finale even if he's just in the audience. He lives in Burbank so he's not too far away to be able to make it.
DeleteI agree about Kree- she was originally my favorite girl but these past few weeks she has been lackluster. I'm hoping for an Angie/Candice finale. I'd be fine with any of the 3 of them winning but my favorite has to be Angie. I like Candice but for some reason I'm more drawn to Angie. But like I said at this point any 3 of them can win and it will be a well-deserved win.
You're probably right about the site as well not getting the ok till the show is over. I don't know why i keep forgetting about the finale. Maybe it's because I don't want to get my hopes up . But you never know. I'll still pretend he won't be there just so I can be surprised. ;)
ReplyDeleteI think Angie will probably be the one who actually gets hit songs. Her voice and musicality is unique enough to make it in Christian or pop radio. She knows what sounds good , she can write her own songs i'm sure. But I wish Candice to win due to pure talent alone. But i agree, i wouldn't mind if any of the ladies wins. They will do well I think post show.
The thing is Angie is the only one to SHOW that she writes. I have to imagine Candice does as well even though she has never said she does. The fact that she can arrange songs to make them her own shows us something, even if she didn't write any songs for her album, I think she would take songs that are given to her and put her spin on them. And it's been mentioned that Kree had a songwriting deal some years ago so she must write as well.
DeleteMy problem with Candice winning is that, yeah she has a great voice, but her personality falls flat for me, as it does for Kree as well. I just imagine trying to watch Candice in interviews and I'm already bored. The other thing is that, while I agree Candice is massively talented, I find a lot of her performances sound the same. I just don't see myself buying her record after the show, although maybe that's just because I don't listen to R&B very much.
That's why i said Angie will have commercial success. If we're talking about personality contest than Kreedom should get the win. I see what you're saying but miss Angie plays way too much for that- camera, she feels too plasticky to me? I've already mentioned Candice's personality will do her no justice and will probably won't get the win because of it, but she has shown more vulnerabilities. I disagree that she is sounding the same at every performance. She actually is the only one that has shown new inflections in her voice, new ways of carrying a note not seen or heard by others. To me she is achieving vocally every time. That's why i think she should get the win. But i say this without any passion in my voice. Any one of them will be fine to me in the end. My personal choice left the building weeks ago.

ReplyDeleteThe way Angie plays to the camera is annoying yes, but I think she will do well in Broadway or other theater type things. That's really where I see her, and they keep calling her Disney and Broadway but I kind of like that about her. If you can picture her in the right setting, it all makes sense. To put it this way, I'd probably rather spend money to see Angie than the other 2. Kree is the last person I'd pay money to see in concert because she really doesn't do anything. I don't think we've got the next Kelly or Carrie on our hands anyway, so whoever wins will probably sell a respectable amount of albums and then who knows where they'll end up, they'll probably have the same amount of success as Jordin Sparks.
Whatever happened to the Kree that sang Up to the Mountain?? That's the Kree that could win the whole thing. That song took me places. Fanbase is key now, I have no idea who has the bigger fanbase since I'm not paying attention much. If it's a tight race then all 3 need to bring it on Weds.
ReplyDeleteWe know all 3 have music ready to release 6 weeks after the finale so we'll see if they are given hits. I honestly don't think they would trust their own music as their first single. It's not how they've done business in the past.
I agree, that was the Kree that made me like her. She just seems to have lost all her fire and passion, which is understandable I guess at this point. All of them are probably worn down by now but maybe her hometown visit will recharge her.
DeleteI think Angie has the most number of Twitter followers but as far as fanbases as a whole go, they are probably neck in neck. Kree has the country vote so that puts her pretty far ahead.
I kept wondering if Angie won if they would let her do "You Set Me Free" as her coronation song. They've been making this season up as they go along and they've done a lot of things differently this year, such as gender-splitting Hollywood Week and doing the Top 40 Vegas round as a live show. It wouldn't surprise me if they let the finalists write their own coronation songs this year so they can have another "first." Plus if you think about it that song was what gained Angie a lot of her fans, I could see it selling very well, so it would only be an advantage for them.
So Kree is first in dial idol. She probably is getting that country vote for sure. Hmm, it's tough but i would still want Angie and Candice in the top 2. But if the country vote has anything to do with it Candice may not make it, which is sad. Oh well...we shall see.
ReplyDeleteKree was screwed on her 3rd song though, that was the last impression she left voters with. I split my Supervotes between Candice and Angie. If I was just basing it on who I'd rather watch in the finale, Kree isn't part of it, she's just not very exciting to watch. Candice got the pimp spot and she gave the best performance of the night, so hopefully that will be enough, but it's true that the country vote might save Kree.

ReplyDeleteIt would be nice if they'd let some of the Top 20 contestants come on and do a group number, especially since Charlie was technically in 12th place. Had they done a Top 12 this year instead of Top 10 he'd have been in it. I hope he at least gets to attend and maybe we'll catch a glimpse of him in the audience.
I saw the article and I'm so glad she put him as her #1 pick. He deserves it. It's obvious to most that the manipulation was in full force this year along with the non chemistry between the judges,the ratings are tanking.

I almost thought she wrote the article just so she could write about Charlie hahhaha She clearly is a devoted turtle. She OBVIOUSLY wants to write more article about you Charlie so give her something to write about! Hahah And yeah even though it was destined from the start that a female would win, Candice or Kree are both certainly deserving of the title and it would have been unfair to them if another WGWG had won over them (not talking about Charlie, but someone with far less vocal talent) If he had won, I don't know if he'd have been able to handle all the attention and press anyway, but it'd have been nice if he at least made Top 10.
DeleteCharlie is back in his turtle shell haha I suspect this past week he was visiting his mom for Mother's Day and he had mentioned returning to CA this week. We have to remember he probably can't say very much about anything he's working on because of his Idol contract. Maybe after the finale he will emerge again. XD
You know I had the same thought, that she is "itching" to write about Charlie and she'll figure one way or another to include him in them! LOL. We turtles have to be patient with the chief turtle because he loves his shell for sure!
ReplyDeleteYes both ladies are deserving but manipulation takes the fun away. THe integrity of a show is important and they lost theirs for sure this season. If I know no matter how much i love an artist, why would i put my heart and soul into it when i know there will be a group that is preferred that particular year?
Still, I will enjoy the finale just because i've enjoyed every finale since it's start. You have to find Season 1 finale. Not one star came to sing to show off their latest singles. It was all contestants and they did an amazing job! It was like watching a Broadway show. Season 2 did very well too.

I wrote on Charlie's fanpage if we can expect to see him in the audience tonight and he (but more likely whoever runs that page) replied: "I've not been invited." :-( I definitely wasn't expecting him to sing any songs because he was home all of last week so he clearly wasn't at rehearsals but I would have thought maybe since he came in 12th place he'd get an invite to the finale... Well I'm sure he's not upset over it.
