The last update is that we'll be getting a new interview online. I can't wait to see him again! His Dad has stated that he will also sing! YAY!!
Anyone seen Nygel's latest IMs?? He is hinting at new surprise/change in Idol after this season is over. He says it's fun and positive. Many are thinking it could be related to the tour or a Vegas show. Don't know but I wish it would include Charlie somehow, but probably hoping for too much.

ReplyDeleteI really wouldn't get my hopes up that the Nigel thing is at all related to Charlie. I think he went out on a high note and they should just let him be. He has new opportunities waiting for him and he is going on his own way now, Idol gave him some exposure and fans and now he can do other things. Time to leave Idol behind. ;-)
I was excited when Ryan announced that we get to vote on a theme and almost all of those themes sounded a lot better than the themes Idol has come up with in recent years.
Yay for Lazaro FINALLY leaving tonight. There is justice in the world after all.
LOL, poor Lazaro, if he didn't leave last night there would have been such backlash. At least he gave a good performance last night. I honestly think he has issues hearing the music because he was able to sing that song last night fairly well. I see Amber going next. Then Angie. That's if Candice keeps giving amazing performances of course.

But the thing is that Lazaro wears an in-ear monitor just like everyone else. If he can't hear it, there's either something wrong with it (which happens sometimes) or he needs to just turn his volume up louder. He shouldn't have any problems hearing it. Angie is the one who has 20% hearing loss in one ear and 40% in the other and she can hear fine. Some people on TWOP seem to think Lazaro does have hearing issues though because of how he talks (aside from the stuttering) I don't know if that is necessarily true but you'd think he would know if he had hearing issues by now and if he did, he'd talk to someone about it. He's just not a good singer and lacks basic musical abilities, plain and simple. But ironically he sang better last night without any hearing device... Maybe he was just relieved that the judges weren't going to bash him anymore (he obviously knew he wasn't getting saved) so he felt relieved to just give one last song and then go home.
DeleteI see Amber going home next as well. She is just not likable at all. I don't get what the judges see in her. She made some comment to Michael Slezak on Twitter when he commented on her outfit, saying like the stylist needed to be fired or something she goes "Who are you?" Um... he's only gonna be the guy interviewing you in a couple weeks when you get voted off gurl. Honestly these kids have no social media savvy whatsoever, getting into these ridiculous Twitter fights and making themselves look like spoiled brats.
Amber's overconfidence is also a turnoff. She keeps saying she wants to be the next Whitney Houston. You're a good singer Amber but please don't compare yourself to a legend, especially one who is deceased. You should just try to be Amber and not be the next anything because you will not even come close. Her fashion style is atrocious and sometimes kind of sleazy looking. I think because she had no confidence last season she's overcompensating for it this season and coming off very full of herself. I really just cannot stand her. They tell us she enjoys taking pictures of herself, makes the comment about how Jimmy called her beautiful even though he just said pretty, talks about how she wants to be the next Whitney, makes the snarky comment on Twitter... I mean... gurl just stop.

Amber will probably get eliminated next, however I think they can still use the save one more week, so they will obviously save her because they are in love with her legs so much. However I don't see it making much of a difference, other than keeping her around another week. America just does not like her. Even when she sings well, no one cares, she just doesn't have the fanbase the other girls have. Even Janelle seems to have more fans. So the following week she will go, followed by Janelle. The top 3 will be Kree, Candice, and Angie, then final 2 will be Candice and Kree.

Maybe the thing Nigel is talking about is something similar, like the fans get to help design certain aspects of the tour. Maybe not song choices, but stage setups and things like that. Like we get a choice between 3 options or something. They seem to be doing this Fan Choice thing a lot so it might be something that gets the audience involved.
ReplyDeleteLOL, you have really payed attention to Amber's flaws. I caught that "beautiful" comment when he only said pretty. And you are right , the legs are the only thing i remember. Calling her Whitney is crazy, I never compared anyone to Whitney, it's just down right silly.
ReplyDeleteI chose Unplugged, I like it simple backgrounds with only passion driving a good vocal performance , but I agree it would be fun to see what is their guilty pleasure.
I see you gave Charlie some tough love. Honestly I wanted to do it too but I try to put myself in his shoes and I realize I can't just cause he may have a touch of Aspergers and I can't really say how one feels. So you're right, he will have to perhaps practice with his family, then with us and later with the media. Otherwise, not doing interviews will not help you at all. At this point I'm fine talking to his Dad, at least we're getting some info when I was expecting next to nothing.
Unplugged initially sounded very interesting to me, however, everything would sort of sound the same. Plus we've got a few belters who I'm not sure would be able to pull off that kind of thing, it would definitely suit Kree and Janelle though.
DeleteYeah I mean I guess his dad is better than nothing but it's like he doesn't realize he has fans waiting day after day to hear even just "hi" from him and he leaves us all waiting in the dark. He expects his dad to do all the heavy lifting for him and sooner or later that won't be happening anymore. It'd be one thing if he just returned to his normal life and wasn't doing anything worth writing about, but he is working on new music! Come on, you can at least tell us that! I know he doesn't mean to but it's like a slap in the face to all the people who have supported him, just leaving us in the dark like that and not speaking to us directly.
Obviously his dad isn't going to say these things to him, none of the other fans are going to say these things, and he doesn't have a record label to tell him these things, so SOMEBODY has to say it. I love Charlie like any other fan does but I'm also not afraid to give him some tough love when he needs it. Like I said, everyone made excuses for Lazaro and coddled him instead of trying to help him and it didn't get him anywhere. We can't just make excuses for Charlie and say everything he does is amazing and perfect because then he'll have no motivation to improve and then he'll just become stagnant. If he doesn't start getting his little butt into gear, some fans might get bored and frustrated and leave (which is a petty reason to do so but I can see it happening) He just needs to realize that social media is, like it or not, a huge part of the music biz today. You need to keep your fans up to date or else they will lose interest in you.
I've been a huge fan of Avril Lavigne for more than 10 years and she started out in the industry when she was Charlie's age. She used to be AWFUL in interviews, she would have her head down and give one-word answers and sounded like she didn't want to be there. It was not only boring to watch, but uncomfortable and awkward as well. Like Charlie, she was really shy, which was why interviews were so hard for her but she didn't have any opportunity to practice and get experience beforehand. Now she is amazing at interviews, she's very chatty and lively and looks like she wants to be there and like she's invested in the conversation.
Now granted Charlie seems invested enough when he's doing interviews and he speaks in full sentences so he isn't THAT bad at doing interviews, but like I said, if he gets the practice NOW doing stupid interviews with his family and informal interviews with his fans, when he does REAL interviews it will be like second nature for him and the interviews will be more interesting to watch because he'll feel comfortable and invested.
Oh I forgot to add that people still bring up Avril's old interviews when they noticed how much she has changed and they kind of mock the way she used to be. So if Charlie gets the practice now, he won't have to suffer through that humiliation and backlash.
