It's Vegas Baby!
I loved the beginning of this song. That's where his voice shines. Loved his showmanship, his confidence will continue to grow. So glad our boy made it!

Can't get enough of my little Charlie! I find it funny that Matheus can actually lift him lol he must not weigh very much. XD Charlie was so bizarre tonight yet he made it work. I can't even describe how much I love him!!!! And it was too precious when he showed off his turtle necklace that he bought for all his fans. :-) What a sweetheart. He is a sweetheart and yet a freakin' rockstar at the same time. XD
ReplyDeleteI think Charlie was on adrenaline high because I didn't know what was the next thing he was going to say or do! lol He's totally endearing and I think he will get better at his performances as time progresses. He needs to focus on his vocals to go far. He has a beautiful voice and needs to pick the songs that will showcase it like Mariah explained with the Nat King Cole song. But he's on his way!!
ReplyDeleteI think he was running on an adrenaline rush as well- that's why he was shaking so much and talking over the judges, I don't think it was nerves since he said he feels comfortable on stage. Hopefully for his next performance he does tone it down a little and focuses more on his voice because that is really all he needs. A great performance is just the cherry on top, but if he picks a song that is more within his range (he hit a couple squeaky notes at the top of his range there), he will make more people believe he can really sing. Unfortunately a lot of people did not like this performance and it was even worse that he really didn't deliver vocally on a classic Elton John song. He needs to show people why he deserves to be in the Top 20- I'd love to hear him sing a Queen song. And I totally agree with you that, even though it seems like we know who he is as an artist, we still never know what he is going to do, say, sing, or wear next. I love how unpredictable he is because he keeps things interesting for us. He just needs to be more aware of his vocal limitations and focus on his voice for next time and he'll be golden. :-)
DeleteWell for the people that are just tuning in I can see why they would be puzzled if they watched only last night's performance. I don't think he realized how much he was going to love the live audience that he wanted to show up the performance and yes, the vocals were not his best. But we know he has it. Yes, he needs to focus on his vocals now and tone down on the responses to the judges because as we know with American Idol the judges will eventually give you a harsh critique. The best thing to do is take it with a smile and that will get him votes. I've watched AI since the first year and usually people get turned off if a contestant talks back at the judges in defense of their performance. But that's the brilliance of Charlie too, his replies are comical and become instant T-shirt slogans. He just needs to know when to give those and when to listen to the critique. I think we're seeing the metamorphosis of a true star, there is rough edges here and there right now but boy I want front seats when he finally is ready in all aspects, performance, vocals, poise, and of course the right amount of spontaneity.
DeleteOf course, it should also be taken into account that he is still very young. If he is already this good, a few years from now he will be a star. I think 50 years from now people will still be talking about him. Many of these contestants may be stars in the making, but Charlie is a LEGEND in the making. XD And I've noticed I'm the only person who ever posts in here, you need to somehow advertise this blog, I'm sure more Charlie fans would love to come here to discuss him with other fans. :-)
